Prairie Burn
Apr 22, 2009 by Red Wing LandRon Martin and his crew from Midwest Prairies came through last week and, in an action-packed 90 minutes, conducted our first controlled burn of the prairie. Prairie ecologists recommend doing these burns every 3 years or so to control woody plants and weeds and stimulate growth. The results were pretty dramatic.
